These Terms and Conditions explain how enquiries, quotations, safari bookings and travel arrangements are handled by GoPatooh Adventure & Safaris. They are intended to help you understand what to check before confirming a trip. Please read them together with the written proposal or booking confirmation issued for your particular itinerary.
For details on cancellations, also read our Cancellation and Refund Policy. For personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
1. Scope of the services
GoPatooh Adventure & Safaris plans and helps arrange safaris and related travel services in Kenya, including itineraries involving national parks, reserves, conservancies, accommodation, transfers, guided activities and selected coastal experiences. The exact services included are those described in the final written quotation or confirmation for your booking.
Descriptions and photographs on the website are intended to introduce destinations and travel possibilities. They do not guarantee a particular animal sighting, weather condition, hotel room, aircraft, guide, vehicle configuration or activity unless the relevant item is expressly confirmed.
2. Enquiries and quotations
Submitting a Plan My Safari form, sending a message or requesting a quotation is an enquiry only. It does not itself reserve rooms, issue tickets, secure park permits or create a confirmed booking. An itinerary may be revised as information and supplier availability become known.
Quotations should describe the proposed travel dates, destinations, number of travellers, accommodation arrangements, transport, services included, optional activities, exclusions, currency and any applicable payment or supplier conditions. Ask our team to clarify any part of a proposal before you accept it.
3. Booking confirmation
A booking is confirmed only when GoPatooh issues written confirmation identifying the accepted services and any applicable confirmation requirements have been fulfilled. Payment requests, deposit amounts and due dates are not uniform across all safaris and must be communicated in the specific quotation or confirmation before a payment is requested.
Unless written confirmation states otherwise, availability and supplier conditions can change before the reservation is accepted and confirmed. Do not treat a draft itinerary or website listing as a guaranteed reservation.
4. Prices, quotations and payment methods
Some safari pages do not display prices because itineraries are tailored to travel dates, group size, accommodation preferences, travel style and other requested services. The price, where applicable, must be supplied in an individual written quotation that identifies the currency and what is included.
Applicable park fees, conservancy charges, taxes, transfer costs and supplier charges should be described in the quotation or the relevant inclusions and exclusions. A change requested before confirmation may require a revised quotation. Any price change to an already confirmed booking will be governed by the agreed terms and applicable law.
GoPatooh does not currently advertise a website checkout as an automatically available payment method. If a booking requires payment, the team should provide verified instructions through official business communication channels. Always confirm payment details before transferring funds, particularly if instructions appear to have changed.
5. Accommodation and room arrangements
Properties and room categories shown in itineraries may be examples or preferences until a particular supplier confirms availability. Budget, Mid-range and Luxury are broad planning classifications, not promises of an exact hotel standard or international rating. The confirmed quotation should identify the accommodation or the agreed standard and describe the room arrangement, meals and any restrictions.
If a listed property cannot be secured, the team should discuss an appropriate alternative and any material effect on the itinerary or total price before proceeding where the change requires customer approval. Room configurations for families, single occupants and mixed traveller groups may affect availability and price.
6. Safari routes, travel styles and activities
Journeys may involve road transfers, scheduled flights, shared transport or private vehicles depending on the itinerary selected and actually confirmed. A Fly-in Safari requires confirmed flight routing, baggage allowance and transfer arrangements. Group departures depend on actual participant and service arrangements, and should not be assumed from a package name alone.
Wildlife drives, photography sessions, walks, balloon flights, boat trips, cultural visits and other experiences may be either included or optional. Only services specifically listed as included in the final confirmation are included. Optional activities may involve separate conditions, additional costs, age limits, weather limitations or supplier availability.
7. Safari variations and personalised itineraries
Several versions of a safari may share the same destinations while varying by interest, accommodation class or travel style. Selecting Family, Photography, Wildlife or another theme on the website expresses a preference until that particular version is confirmed in writing. Requested adjustments to duration, pace, destinations or services may require a revised schedule and quotation.
8. Travel documents and entry requirements
Each traveller is responsible for holding valid passports, identification, permissions, entry authorisations and other documents applicable to their nationality and itinerary. Requirements can change. Please consult the relevant government or diplomatic authorities and airlines for the latest information, rather than relying only on a safari description.
Give accurate traveller details for any tickets, permits or reservations, and notify us promptly if a name or document number has been entered incorrectly. Suppliers may charge for amendments or refuse changes to issued documents.
9. Health, accessibility and travel insurance
A safari may include long drives, uneven ground, warm or cool weather, remote locations and encounters with wild animals in their natural habitat. Travellers should discuss mobility requirements, accessibility needs and relevant health or dietary needs early so that practical arrangements can be evaluated. Not every lodge, activity or vehicle can accommodate every request.
Appropriate travel insurance, including cover for medical care, evacuation, interruptions and cancellations where available, is strongly recommended. Insurance is not included unless the confirmed quotation expressly says it is included. Travellers should check the policy terms, exclusions and cover limits for themselves.
10. Children and supervision
Children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult according to the arrangements and applicable supplier rules. Child accommodation, park admission and activity eligibility policies differ by supplier and age. These conditions must be confirmed for the selected accommodation and travel dates; no single child rate or age rule should be assumed from the website alone.
11. Guest conduct and safety
Travellers should follow reasonable instructions from their guide, park staff, accommodation providers and activity operators. Please respect wildlife viewing rules, park boundaries, community customs, environmental protection measures and the safety of fellow travellers. Do not approach or feed wild animals or leave a vehicle in an unauthorised area.
Serious behaviour that threatens safety or breaches the law may result in an activity being interrupted or participation being refused by the responsible supplier, subject to the circumstances, agreed terms and applicable legal rights.
12. Changes made before or during travel
Routes and activity timings may need adjustment because of weather, road conditions, wildlife movements, park regulations, flight changes, operational restrictions or other circumstances. Where a significant change is anticipated, GoPatooh will communicate the available options and seek the appropriate approval when required.
Any additional service requested during the trip may incur a separately agreed cost. A traveller who voluntarily declines an included service should ask whether any amount is recoverable before assuming a refund is due.
13. Independent suppliers
Accommodation providers, airlines, transport operators, conservation areas and activity providers may impose their own legally applicable terms and restrictions. Relevant conditions, including non-refundable permits or tickets, should be disclosed before booking when they affect the traveler's decision. GoPatooh will coordinate with those suppliers where it has arranged the affected service.
14. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation, postponement and refunds are governed by the specific accepted booking terms, disclosed supplier conditions and applicable consumer law. No fixed cancellation penalty, universal deposit rule or automatic refund period is established by this page. For the request process and practical considerations, review our Cancellation and Refund Policy.
15. Complaints and service concerns
If something is not as confirmed, tell your guide or the responsible service contact as soon as reasonably possible so there is an opportunity to address it. For a complaint after travel, send your booking reference, travel dates, explanation and relevant documents to info@gopatoohsafaris.com. We will review the concern and communicate the next steps.
16. Responsibility and applicable law
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude responsibility or legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights arising from applicable Kenyan consumer protection law. Where a matter cannot be resolved by discussion, the law and legally competent forum applicable to the booking and consumer will determine the available remedies.
17. Updates and contact
These website terms may be revised to reflect changes in the services or applicable law. The terms and documents specifically accepted for an existing confirmed booking should be considered when identifying the contractual terms that apply to that booking.
