From Laikipia's Conservancy to the Rift Valley Lake
Take four days to experience two quite different sides of Kenya's wildlife country. Begin with two nights around Ol Pejeta Conservancy, known for its rhino conservation work and rewarding game drives. Continue south-west to Lake Nakuru for a final night and a close look at woodland, grassland and lakeshore habitats before returning to Nairobi.
Ol Pejeta: Time to Watch, Not Rush
Arrive from Nairobi and take an afternoon game drive where timing permits. A full second day gives your guide flexibility to explore different sections of the conservancy, look for rhinos and large mammals, and explain the region's conservation initiatives. A visit to Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary can be arranged subject to opening arrangements, fees and available time.
Lake Nakuru: Birds, Rhinos and Rift Valley Scenery
Travel to Nakuru on the third day, with time for a wildlife drive only if the transfer and park hours allow. On the final morning, explore Lake Nakuru National Park, a protected habitat with rhinos, other mammals and an ever-changing bird community. Flamingos are possible but their presence and numbers vary with water levels and feeding conditions, so they are never promised.
Two Destinations, Three Nights
With two nights near Ol Pejeta and one near Lake Nakuru, the route offers a clear contrast between northern conservancy terrain and a Rift Valley lake ecosystem. The programme can be adapted for wildlife photography, conservation interests or general game viewing without changing the core four-day route.
